Payroll Administrator

Biffa is currently on the hunt for a Payroll Administrator to work within the Employee Services Function providing effective, accurate and timely Payroll administrative support to all internal & external clients, maintaining a high level of customer service and compliance with company operating procedures; security of employee information and legal obligations.

Location: Coronation Road, Cressex, High Wycombe, HP12 3TZ

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work to agreed Standard Operating processes across all Payroll tasks.
• Work within Employee Services agreed Service Level Agreements and KPI’s.
• Collate, verify, process and update Employee information to Payrite database.
• Calculation of Pay period amendments to HMRC guidelines & Contractual rules.
• Timely end to end pay run processing on Weekly & Monthly frequencies.
• First point of contact for clients of Employee Services regarding Payroll enquiries to ensure resolution of client enquiries within a agreed timescale.
• Support Line Managers in the use of Operating Systems.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the SOP to drive efficiency, accuracy and increased service levels to clients of Employee Services.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Payroll Administration tasks to include:

• Extract & upload of Electronic Timesheet & Absence information from Operating systems
• Verification & processing of Starter, Leaver & Employee changes
• Calculation of Pay period adjustments and entry to Employee record
• Weekly & Monthly pay run process with Gross to Net calculation and exception checking
• Costing allocation & Finance reporting
• Individual Pay Award & Bonus updates to employee records
• Filing & archiving of documentation in line with the Data Protection Act
• Line Manager support & guidance
• Maintenance of Employee Information in Operating systems & databases
• Work to required standards and practices as determined within the Service Level Agreements and KPI’s to meet the Standard Operating model. Take ownership for allocated tasks, with high level of accuracy, attention to detail and adherence to agreed process

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with highly developed customer facing skills
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines using own initiative.
• Highly organised with a high level of attention to detail
• Professional and customer-centric attitude
• Confidentiality and total discretion is paramount to this role
• General IT skills inc Excel, Word & PowerPoint
