Hazardous Waste Dispatch Manager

Biffa Plc is on the lookout for a Hazardous Waste Dispatch Manager to manage the Dispatchers within the Haz Waste division ensuring the business operates within expected parameters, ensuring the business remains fully complaint at all times, conduct Disciplinary procedures as and when required. Assist with the national planning function when required.


• Manage the Dispatchers / Drivers across the Haz Waste Division : Ensure SOPS and Operational Handbook is adhered too
• Ensure the business remains fully compliant, EU Drivers Hours Regs / RTD etc etc
• Conduct Fleet Audits minimum of 2 per depot per year
• Conduct any type of performance management / disciplinary as and when required
• Assist with the integration / smooth running of the central planning function
• Conduct Annual performance reviews with all dispatchers
• Ensure divisional KPI’S are met on a monthly basis
• Develop & Mentor Dispatchers
• Seek continuous improvement in order to maintain operational excellence
• Provide cover for national manager when required


Reporting to the National Transport Manager the purpose of the role is to ensure the Transport function nationwide remains fully compliant in line with current legislation and company procedures whilst delivering a 1st class service to our customer base.

The role requires the management and motivation of multi-disciplined staff following company policies and procedures to deliver the targets established, whilst also working within the management team to deliver on company strategy and customer expectations.

• Excellent Geographical Knowledge
• Managing multiple operating centres
• Excellent leadership, motivation and man management
• Waste industry knowledge
• Transport industry knowledge
• Hazardous Goods
• Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers hours
• Must be competent in managing a diverse fleet
